WAC 2019, diversity in web audio!
The WAC – Web Audio Conference, is an international conference dedicated to web audio technologies and applications. The conference addresses academic research, artistic research, development, design, evaluation and standards concerned with emerging audio-related web technologies such as Web Audio API, Web RTC, WebSockets and Javascript.
The conference welcomes web developers, music technologists, computer musicians, application designers, industry engineers, R&D scientists, academic researchers, artists, students and people interested in the fields of web development, music technology, computer music, audio applications and web standards.
SonoSuite is one of the official sponsors of this year’s conference and Luis Joglar, member of our Engineering team, will lead a speech to introduce the attendees of the next WAC in Trondheim (Norway) on the 5th of December, to the project SonoSuite has been working together with the Music Technology Group (MTG) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra during the past year.
As detailed in a previous blog post, SonoSuite and the Music Technology Group (MTG) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra are working together to develop algorithms for Automatic Detection of Audio Problems for Quality Control in Digital Music Distribution. This project was presented during the 147th Audio Engineering Society Convention in March in Dublin, and the algorithms are available in the open source AES e-Library Essentia.
We are so happy with these results that we aim to go a step forward. We want to make these algorithms work in the browser with the Web Audio API. Again, together with the MTG, we have been working these past months on compiling the C++ Essentia library into a Web Assembly binary to be able to use it as a JavaScript library.
The SonoSuite team attending the WAC, will also show some demos and answer any questions related to our work and ongoing projects on the 5th of December at 10AM at the R5 (Realfagbygget, Gløshaugen Campus) during the demo/poster sessions.
