MusicTech Spirit: The future of music in the age of Internet and data

Following the cancellation of the for Years From Now (4Y4N) start-up show – linked to the Mobile World Congress – due to fear of the expansion of coronavirus, Barcelona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem – led by Barcelona Tech City, Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat de Catalunya, Mobile World Capital and other institutions in the startup community– have launched Tech Spirit Barcelona in record time, an initiative that will bring together a series of activities and conferences promoting entrepreneurship planned for the 24th, 25th and 26th of February.

MUSICTECH SPIRIT

On Monday, February 24th, at  SGAE’s headquarters in Barcelona, the MusicTech Spirit day will take place with the purpose of being “a meeting to discuss the future of music, from its creation, distribution and promotion, in an era where the Internet has produced great changes in the industry.” Bringing together national and international experts in the field of music, culture and technology thanks to the active collaboration between Barcelona MusicTech Hub and Aulart Music Masterclass.

Our CEO, Jose Luis Zagazeta, will be present at the beginning of this day as one of the speakers of the round table “Esmorzars Label Lab” Music Tech Spirit – The music start-ups” together with APECAT, SDE, Miquel Tolosa, CEO of MonkingMe, Jordi Puy, CEO of Unison Rights, and Marisol López, Director of the Digital Culture Area of ICEC as moderator. Discussing how the complex management of music rights has made different music start-ups try to automate as much as possible the distribution of content, and the identification and monetization of catalogs to eliminate factors of conflict with artists and rights holders.
